Moscow Expects Sanctions to Remain in Force in 2017-2019 - Russian PM

The Russian prime minister said the cabinet expected sanctions to remain in force for the period of 2017-2019.
JERICHO (Sputnik) – Russia's priorities are defined by the current state of its economy rather than by other countries' actions, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Friday.
"We will not create 'the Trump forecast' for our budget. We are guided by our own priorities that are in no way linked to foreign authorities' actions but are based on our estimates of the current state of the Russian economy," Medvedev told journalists.
He said that when making a forecast for 2017, 2018 and 2019, Russia's cabinet expects the anti-Russian sanctions to remain in force for that period.
"So regardless of the outcome of elections in any country, even such an important country as the United States, our estimates remain unchanged, including the estimates that sanctions will remain in force. Should the situation change, we will probably also change our projections in new conditions, [but] we will not adjust anything now," Medvedev stressed.
Republican candidate Donald Trump won Tuesday's presidential elections in the United States, despite most of the analysts and opinion polls predicting his defeat to Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton.
