
Russian Forces to Get 80,000 Sets of 'Future Soldier' Gear Till Year End

The Russian military will get about 80,000 sets of the Ratnik 'future soldier' gear before the end of 2015, Russian Land Forces' commander Col. Gen. Oleg Salyukov told journalists on Thursday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Ratnik gear comprises more than 40 components, including firearms, body armor, and optical, communication and navigation devices, as well as life support and power supply systems.
'We have already started working on the creation of the third generation gear that will surpass its foreign analogues taking into account the development forecast up until 2025,' Salyukov said, adding that Russian servicemen will be able to use the Ratnik gear in the Arctic.
Salyukov also said that Russian ground forces will get two Iskander tactical missile systems in 2016.
