Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that Russia is ready to continue consultations with the United States on the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia is ready to continue consultations with the United States on the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) as soon as Washington explains its accusations against Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Tueday.
"We are in favor of this. And it has been stated repeatedly by [Russian Foreign Minister Sergei] Lavrov and [US Secretary of State John] Kerry. But the problem is, to continue consultations, the American side needs to explain its complaints," Ryabkov told RIA Novosti.
According to Ryabkov, the two countries have reached a "closed circle," with the United States claiming it has handed over all the needed information regarding its concerns.
"Our position is that we are ready and open, but we cannot continue the talks without understanding exactly what Washington has in mind," Ryabkov stated.
