Russia's Baltic Fleet Conducts Firing Drills

The crews performed their assigned tasks in conditions of a heavy fog so targets would not be visible. Targets were detected and tracked with use of radar systems.

The large amphibious ship Korolev and the small-size missile ship Passat of the Russian Baltic Fleet successfully performed gun practice at sea in low visibility conditions, the press office of the Western Military District reported in a statement.

'At sea ranges crews of the ships performed firing at sea targets. They also preformed drills in electronic jamming, ship damage control and navigating in a visibility of less than 2 nautical miles,' the statement said.

The gun training was performed by a single ship equipped with AK-176 and AK-630 cannons. The ship fired at a simulated enemy vessel.
