Economic sanctions as political pressure tool have boomerang effect in modern world - Putin

23 May 2014, 16:08 -- Economic sanctions in the modern world will eventually reflect on the economies of the countries that initiated them, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. 'Nations want self-determination, they want to maintain their cultural, historical, and civilization's identity,' Putin said.

Putin also said the planet's geo-economic map is changing, alternative economic growth centers are emerging, new integration associations are appearing, and there is a growing demand for collective leadership, in which decisions are made.
