One Sailor Killed, 4 Injured as Shell Explodes in Baltic Fleet
21:26 01/08/2012 ST. PETERSBURG, August 1 (RIA Novosti) - One Navy serviceman was killed and four injured when a shell detonated during an exercise in Russia’s Baltic Fleet, the Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday.
A law enforcement source told RIA Novosti that the accident happened on board the ASW Perekop near St. Petersburg.
A criminal case has been opened on “careless handling of weapons” charges.
