Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that Iran's nuclear issue should be resolved through dialogue.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Athens, he said Iran's nuclear dossier would be followed up by the IAEA and the UN Security Council merely would be informed of Iran's nuclear dossier and is not to take any action on it.
He also voiced his country's opposition to any military threats against Iran by other countries.
"At this stage, I would like to advise against making prophecies or vague predictions, and there is no need for threats of violence because use of military force under current international situation should be taken by the United Nations," he said.
Underlining the importance of recent resolution issued by the IAEA Board of Governors, he said, "We hope the IAEA's director general will give a precise report on Iran's nuclear dossier and remove all existing ambiguities at the upcoming meeting in March."
