RUSSIA, CHINA COORDINATE PLAN OF FIRST BILATERAL MILITARY EXERCISES
MOSCOW, February 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and China have coordinated the plan of first-ever bilateral military exercises, Colonel-General Anatoly Mazurkevich, head of the main department of international cooperation, said on Monday.
According to him, the exercises will be held on the Liaodong peninsula (the Yellow Sea) in August-September 2005; however, they may be postponed till October.
In his words, 100 Russian and 100 Chinese servicemen will participate in the exercises.
"The plan of the exercises has been coordinated as well. We shall practice anti-terrorist operation, localize and eliminate terrorists, drug dealers and other criminals," Colonel-General Mazurkevich said.
Marines and paratroopers will be involved in the exercises, he added.
The number and types of planes and submarines which will be used in the exercises have not been fixed yet, he noted.
