NEW DELHI, February 9 (RIA Novosti) - The largest world producers of aviation and space vehicles from more than 30 countries are taking part in the fifth International Airspace Exhibition, Aero India-2005, in Bangalore.
Russia's exhibition is the largest. It displays about 700 samples of military, multipurpose and civil aircraft. A Russian MiG-29M2 fighter, for example, will participate in demonstration flights that will take place at the Air Show daily. The fighter jet, offered by the Rosoboronexport and the MiG aircraft-building corporation, will participate in the tender of the Indian Air Force that intends to buy a consignment of multipurpose fighters.
Nearly 50 enterprises of the Russian airspace complex are taking part in the Air Show.
India's participation in the show has practically doubled in comparison to last year. As many as 140 companies, including the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the biggest producer of aircraft, will represent India this year.
Yesterday, the Bharat Electronics state corporation reported that it had started delivering its own up-to-date radar systems to Indonesia and Sudan.
The air show will last from February 9 to 13 at the Indian Air Force's aviation base, 20 kilometers away from Bangalore (in the state of Karnataka). The organizer of the Air Show, which is held once every two years, is the Indian Defense Ministry's department of military industry and supplies.
Indian Defense Minister Pranab Mukherjee will officially open the exhibition.
On the eve of the opening, a seminar on the prospects of the development of the world airspace industry took place in Bangalore. The Russian defense industrial complex's representatives participated.
