IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Moscow, March 17, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- Head of the Federal Service for Nuclear Supervision Andrei Malyshev said the construction of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr faces organizational and financial difficulties. At the same time, Malyshev said, "There are no serious technical problems at the construction site." Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Russian official said, "Russia is complying with its obligations under the agreements and contracts on the construction of reactors and turbines." In his words, `there are problems related to supplies of additional equipment that is being bought by Iran. The Iranian side is saving the funding`. "The part of equipment, which is necessary to complete the construction, should have been bought in Europe that bans supplies of such equipment to Iran," Malyshev said. But `now it`s possible to solve all these problems and there are no reasons for doubting this Iranian facility is over`, Malyshev stressed. Under the Russian-Iranian agreement, the Federal Service for Nuclear Supervision `will provide aid to Iran to commission the nuclear power plant in Bushehr`, the official said. /AH/210 End
