PRESIDENT CLINTON ANNOUNCES SUMMIT MEETING WITH RUSSIAN FEDERATION
PRESIDENT BORIS YELTSIN
The President announced today that he has accepted an invitation from
President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin to meet in Russia in
early September. The President underscored the vitality of the
U.S.-Russian relationship and looks forward to engaging President Yeltsin
and the Russian leadership on a broad range of issues. The President asked
Vice President Gore to use his July 23-24 meetings in Moscow with Russian
Prime Minister Kiriyenko to help prepare the agenda for the summit.
