TODAY THE STATE DUMA HAS PASSED THE LAW "ON DESTRUCTION OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS" AS A WHOLE MOSCOW, DECEMBER 27.

Today the State Duma deputies approved as a whole the law "On Destruction of Chemical Weapons". In conformity with it, the chemical weapons, stockpiled on the territory of Russia, must be destroyed within the time limits established by the President of Russia.
The law contains a reservation saying that the chemical weapons and the facilities for their storage and destruction "shall be within exclusive jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and be federal property". The destruction of chemical weapons is to be financed from the federal budget.
The law has been submitted to the Federation Council for approval. (ark/lnv)
