RUSSIAN NUCLEAR MISSILE SHIELD REINFORCED BY ONE REGIMENT
MOSCOW, DECEMBER 30, RIA NOVOSTI'S ALEXEY MESHKOV -
On the eve of the New Year, the strategic missile troops have adopted one more regiment modernised with the new missile complex RS-12M "Topol". According to General Igor Sergeev, the commander-in-chief of the missile troops, now the nuclear missile shield of Russia has been reinforced by one more regiment armed with ground-based mobile rocket complexes with inter-continental mono-unit ballistic missiles.
Judging by a special press-release of the missile troops, the stationary mobile missile complex (SS-25) is rightly considered to be a unique one incorporating the advanced achievements of Russian missile-building. It enables our missile troops to continue contributing to the Russian potential of nuclear deterrence, to be a key guarantor of national security and strategic stability on the world scene.
