On June 3, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Tariq Fatemi.
The officials discussed bilateral interaction as well as regional and international security. Syed Tariq Fatemi briefed Sergey Lavrov on Pakistan's view of the current situation in Indo-Pakistani relations. The Russian minister stressed the importance of a direct dialogue and greater mutual trust between New Delhi and Islamabad. The sides highlighted the importance of building up joint efforts in the fight against all manifestations of terrorism at international venues, primarily the UN and the SCO.
