We extend our deepest condolences at the passing away of His Highness Prince Karim Al Hussaini Agha Khan IV, the 49th Imam of the Ismailia community. A spiritual leader, statesman, visionary, and philanthropist, His Highness combined many roles and stood out as unifying figure in our fragmented world. We cherish High Highness Prince Karim Agha-Khan's special attachment with Pakistan recallhsi unforgettable role in the development of its people. We remember contributions of his grandfather His Highness Sultan Muhammad Agha Khan to the independence movement and creation of Pakistan . Also the contribution of his father, His Highness Prince Aly Khan for his service as Pakistan's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. The people of Pakistan extend heartfelt condolences to his family and the Ismailia community all over the world in this hour of sorrow and grief.

Pakistan condemns Israel's undue restrictions impeding the flow of aid, shelters and necessary medical equipment to the territory, in violation of the ceasefire deal. As per the agreement 60,000 trailers and 200,000 tents were supposed to enter Gaza and the deal also required Israel to allow equipment to help clear the rubble to reach Gaza. Amidst dire humanitarian needs, Israel's undue restrictions are an outright violation of the ceasefire agreement, and it will have dangerous and unprecedented implications for the entire region.

We call on the international community to break its silence on the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by Israel and its continuous atrocities committed against the innocent Palestinians. The international community must step up and ensure that the ceasefire agreement is honored in letter and spirit. We also urge the international community to hold Israel accountable for its war crimes and crimes against humanity.

We call for enhanced. unhindered humanitarian assistance to those in urgent need; opening of all access points of supply to Gaza; and for allowing all UN and international agencies, including UNRWA to operate fully in Gaza.

We also reaffirm our unconditional support for the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people and for the creation of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Government and people of Pakistan yesterday observed the 'Kashmir Solidarity Day', and expressed their resolve to stand with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the realization of their right to self-determination.

Ahead of the Kashmir Solidarity Day, a briefing was organized for Islamabad-based diplomats to apprise them of the situation in IIOJK.

The officers and staff members of the Ministry, led by the Foreign Secretary, participated in the 'Solidarity Day Walk' held on the Constitution Avenue.

A wide range of other activities, including seminars, webinars, public rallies and photo exhibitions were organized across the country, and at Pakistan's diplomatic missions around the world. These activities were aimed at expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people and highlighted the human rights violations in IIOJK.

I thank you!

(Khawaja Nayyar Iqbal, Media Today): There is an extreme global reaction on the orders given by the President Donald Trump on taking over Gaza. After being elected as President, he is talking about Guantanamo Bay, trade and various other measures. How Pakistan is being affected by such statements?

(Saima Shabbir, Arab News): I would like to know about Pakistan's Foreign Office response about President Trump's statement that the US will take over Gaza and that all Gazans should relocate to other countries. I kindly need your comment.

(Azaz Syed, Geo News): Almost three days have passed that Pakistan didn't give response to the new plan given by American President, Mr. Donald Trump. What is the delay in this that we have not responded? We've seen the response of Saudi Arabia, we have seen the response of Jordan and almost every country but why is there a delay from Pakistan?

(Shrouq Tariq, AFP): Sir, there's this news circulating on Palestinian media that Pakistan may be taking Palestinian prisoners who are being released from Israel. Kindly your comment on that.

(Sumaira Khan, Samaa TV): Sir, what's overall response from Pakistan, because we have already delayed our response on Gaza situation, after a very serious statement from incoming President Trump. Do you see it as a continuity of policy of President Biden? Or you think that pressure from different countries, like Australia, Saudi Arabia and OIC above all, immediately released statements. And we are seeing more statements coming in this regard. So, what do you think the pressure will build up and it would make any change into the foreseen policy of US?

(Mateen Haider, G-News): It is an extraordinary situation where the US President announced taking over of Gaza and today's latest development is that Israel has fully endorsed it since it is an extraordinary situation is there or any move initiative to call emergency meeting of OIC at any level, at executive committee or foreign ministers level, to discuss this? Because it is going to change the entire scenario of Middle East.

(Shabbir Wahgra, PTV World): Along with all the questions about President Trump's statement, I would like to know if you could also elaborate whether taking over Gaza physically by the United States is against the international law?

(Mona Khan, Independent Urdu): So, when are we expecting all those 15 free Palestinian prisoners, which Pakistan is going to host?

Spokesperson: Actually, Mr. Aizaz also pointed this out. Let me explain: this issue regularly features in our briefings, because the problem in Palestine has been so grave, particularly the violation of human rights during last two years. It is practically a genocide taking place in front of our eyes. Pakistan's position from the beginning, actually from the time of founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's unequivocal position on this issue is unambiguous and very clear. There is no ambiguity on this. Our support for Palestinian cause is constant throughout our history, it is one of the issues which is very dear to all Pakistani people. This is something you will find constant across our history from 1947, and there is no question of a change.

This statement was addressed in the last briefing but in a different manner. At that time, we had made our position clear. So let me just reiterate it, and then I'll come to the other question: Pakistan's position on the issue of Palestine is very clear. Pakistan has been and will continue to stand by the people of Palestine in their just struggle for self-determination, as well as for the establishment of a sovereign, independent and contiguous Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

I'll also repeat what I said last time. The proposal to displace the people of Gaza is deeply troubling and unjust. The Palestinian land belongs to the Palestinian people, and the only viable and just option is the two-state solution and resolution of this conflict in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. So, there is no ambiguity on this issue. I thought I'll put it to rest. You know this position, there is no room for any ambiguity or any doubt on that.

And secondly, some of my colleagues, before the briefing, had been approaching me about this news of Pakistan taking in some of the people being released by Israel. At that time, I had responded to them and my answer remains the same. This issue has not come up to the foreign ministry at official level, so any comment at this point would be purely speculative.

(Anwar Abbas, 24 News): Do you reject the statements and orders of President Trump regarding displacement and relocation of Palestinians? Secondly, Quaid-e-Azam never had the stance of two state solution on Palestine as you just stated that we have the same stance from the time of our founding father. He opposed Israel, however, the two-state solution came during 1980s after Abraham Accords, Sharm El Sheikh etc.

Spokesperson: Our position is in sync with Palestinian position and not opposite to what Palestinians want. I'm talking about the way from 1948 Palestinians have been driven from their home, the proposal to displace the people of Gaza is deeply troubling and unjust. There is no ambiguity about it.

(Naveed Siddiqui, Business Rcorder): Sir, over 2 million registered Afghan people who are holding ACC card and POR card. They are being relocated from Islamabad in Rawalpindi, and then will be repatriated to Afghanistan and they are registered. Is it correct? And this is the directive given by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and a letter has been written to all relevant ministries, including the Foreign Office of Pakistan. Can you tell us the details, please?

Spokesperson: This question has actually two parts. As a very experienced journalist, you would know that any official document allegedly leaked, we as a policy, don't comment on its authenticity or otherwise. So, let's put it to rest. That's first question. Secondly, about repatriation of Afghans. Again, this is a policy under discussion for a long time for the repatriation of illegal foreigners. I would repeat that this is not something targeted at Afghans only. In any country, if you find an illegal alien without any documents or any proof of residence, then repatriation is a normal thing to do. So, this is, first of all, not targeting Afghans, per se. About the other part, the linked issue, which you didn't flag, but I understand there will be questions about this: resettlement. That's another sub component of this broader problem or challenge. I would say the resettlement, we have been discussing it for a long time, there are certain countries which have identified a number of Afghans, given us the details that they want to resettle them in their country, for whatever reasons. They were there, you know, employees, or they worked with their embassies during the time of NATO presence in Afghanistan. So, on that I explained in the last briefings, we are in touch with all those countries. And at times, we feel the process comes across as very slow. There has to be a sunset clause to this whole arrangement. This resettlement problem can't be indefinite. So, for us, the Afghans who are here, awaiting resettlement also has to be a transitory phase. This is not a permanent thing and we are in touch with them. We have been facilitating Western countries in this resettlement program. We will continue to do that.

And about the specific question, I don't think there are 2 million Afghans living in Rawalpindi, Islamabad. In term of overall numbers there are more than 4 million Afghans, still living in Pakistan, and you don't find many examples of this degree of generosity and welcome afforded to a refugee population for over five decades. We continue to live up to our commitments, our international obligations, and of course our culture also in welcoming and looking after the refugees. But then, of course, any person who doesn't have any proof of residence, the repatriation will continue. But beyond that for the specific questions I would refer you to the Ministry of Interior on that. This is I can give you the broad context and the canvas of our policy, and then you can further approach Ministry of Interior for any specific details.

(Khalid Mehmood, Express News): Sir, there are some reports about the breakfast meeting of Donald Trump with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Could you share some details? Secondly, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is on a visit to U.S., what are his further activities there and please also confirm if he's on an official or private visit?

(Khawaja Nayyar Iqbal, Media Today): On one side, President Asif Ali Zardari is on a visit to China and stated that we are in allegiance with China and no one else. On the other side as Mr. Khalid asked you, is there any ongoing parallel policy of Pakistan where both the President and the former foreign minister who are from the People's Party are on the visit of China and America?

Spokesperson: About the first question, I don't have details. The Honorable former Foreign Minister's visit has not been planned through the Foreign Ministry I'll request you to approach the party Spokesman on that. I don't have any details. Secondly, I don't agree with such framing of the issue. We have exceptionally strong strategic partnership with China. We have decades old partnership and friendship with the United States. We maintain good relations with all countries. We have developing, growing positive relations with Russia. European Union is a very important partner for Pakistan. Similarly, we have strong relations with Islamic countries, Central Asia, East Asia; this is overall, direction of our foreign policy.

(Syed Asif Ali, Din News): Yesterday we saw that the Army Chief gave a statement in Muzaffarabad while addressing the soldiers that we have already fought three wars with India and are ready to fight more wars. We are witnessing "use of power" to solve all disputes globally. Russia attacked Ukraine, you can see the conditions of Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, there is use of power. Do you think that diplomatic relations between Pakistan and India are on the level where there could be a solution or are they worst enough to drag both countries towards war despite being nuclear powers?

Spokesperson: What I can comment is to reiterate our position on Kashmir. You are very well aware of that. On Army chief statement, what I can say is that we maintain a very robust defense posture to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. The second component about any peaceful resolution, we have always aspired for a peaceful resolution, and we believe that Kashmir is the core issue bedeviling peace and security in South Asia. If we resolve this, it will unlock a very prosperous future for the region and the solution of Kashmir issue, according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. That remains unchanged and our clear policy.

(Shaukat Piracha, AAJ News): Two questions, reverting back to what President Trump said, there has been series of clarifications from the US officials. They are not saying that we want to occupy, rather even the White House Spokesperson Ms. Carolina also talked like this. So, what Pakistan makes out of this statement, whether Trump's statement means occupation of Gaza or development of Gaza? Army Chief said yesterday that we can have 10 wars with India. Prime Minister said India should come for talks with us. And there are reports that Pakistan is ready to import some garlic, onion etc from India. So, what is the policy regarding India, keeping in mind the three components?

Spokesperson: About the first question, I have stated our position. We have actually seen several statements by US officials, including by Secretary of State. I can't comment, but I have clearly explained our position on the question of Palestine and the people living in Gaza. Secondly, about the relations with India, you know our position. You know history of these relations and I just want to reiterate that resolution of Kashmir issue is the key to unlock the full potential of the region, and a bright future for South Asia. About preparations of war, of course, what I can say is that we maintain a robust defense posture to deal with any eventuality.

(Saqib Ali, Daily Kashmir): ICC Champions Trophy's first match will be played in UAE between Pakistan and India. Visa issues have not yet been resolved. Any updates on it? Did the Foreign Office have any discussions regarding visas issue with the authorities of UAE?

Spokesperson: I don't have a ready update. I'll check with our embassy and the Middle East Division. I'll get back to you.

(Adeel Bashir, Roze News): On 5th February, Al Aqsa Conference was organized at Rawlakot, AJK. Indian media blamed that two of Pakistan's biggest terrorist organizations, Jaish e Mohammed and Lashkar e Tayyiba have joined forces with Hamas because spokesperson of Hamas, Doctor Khaled Qaddumi was there. This alliance was publicly seen in Rawlakot during this conference. What's your stance on this?

Spokesperson: I have to check the facts on this. I am not aware of it. I'll check with the relevant departments and get back to you on this.

(Anas Mallick, Capital TV): First part of the question is on the Joint Statement, and then second is on Afghanistan. So, I think Afghanistan first. I think on the 31st of January, ISPR said that an operation was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan, in which now it has been confirmed that an Afghan terrorist, son of the Deputy Governor of a Bahdis province was killed. Yesterday his body was also handed over to Angoor Adda border of the Afghan side. Has this matter been taken up through diplomatic channels? This is particularly on Afghanistan. On the second part, which is to do with the Joint Statement, point number seven talks about Pakistan condemning the violence against Chinese nationals, but there's no mention of Pakistani nationals who've lost their lives. Is the Chinese blood thicker than the Pakistani blood? and then point number 17 mentions that Pakistan has committed security forces upgrade, particularly for Chinese nationals. Would you want to shed some light on that?

Spokesperson: About the question of demarche, as I was mentioning earlier, handing over a demarche, protest note, is a regular activity, and we don't publicize it unless there is something dramatic. But what I can confirm to you is that one of the terrorists killed was, indeed son of Afghan interim government official from Badghis province. The body has been handed over to the Afghan authorities that I can confirm. And secondly, on China, this joint statement, I wouldn't agree with your characterization, the way you have framed it and the way you have tried to see it. This is not correct and the focus is on the security of Chinese nationals. So, this is something on which, we have articulated a commitment to ensure that. I'll get back to you on the specific question.

(Allah Noor Wazir, Mashriq TV): Yesterday, Army Chief Syed Asim Munir chanted in Kashmir "Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan". We heard similar slogans here as well but when will Kashmir be made part of Pakistan? Similarly, regarding Afghanistan, Pakistan is regularly complaining that TTP people come here in Pakistan through border and martyr Pakistani civilians and forces through their terrorist attacks so, what is the route that they take to enter Pakistan? Are they already present in Pakistan or do they come from Afghanistan?

(Mateen Haider, G News): A day before visiting Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Army Chief also presided over Core Commanders conference and gave a very strong message to India that in case of any eventuality or any possible war, a befitting response will be given. My question to you is that is there any possibility of any adventure or any cross-border attack from Indian side that our army chief had to speak? And it's not only that statement. There was an ISPR statement that all Cor Commanders took strong exception to the provocative statements of the Indian military leadership. So, what's your take? Is it just to make political scoring, or is there any real threat to Pakistan? Your response, please?

Spokesperson: You see, I'll come to the question of Mr. Mateen and then Mr. Wazir. About the question of defense policy, declaratory policy is a very important component of that. More than anything, it's a restatement of Pakistan's readiness, the defense preparedness, to deal with any eventuality. Secondly, as you mentioned, there has been a spate of statements recently, very irresponsible statements by the Indian side. I'll come to the second question, first, about Afghanistan, the question you are asking is of a very technical nature. I don't have answer about the exact routes, but I'll try to see what information I can get and can explain the broad policy. You know it, someone who has dealt with Afghanistan for so long, the problem of TTP enjoy sanctuaries is a tangible and a real problem we are facing, and this is part of our dialogue or interaction with Afghan authorities. This is the core problem right now, kind of complicating relations which should be much better than what they are today. We have been emphasizing to Kabul authorities to address the question of sanctuaries on the Afghan territory. This is a problem Afghanistan has to address. About Kashmir, I'll just reiterate our policy. It's a long struggle we understand and our position remains absolutely clear and firm, and I'll just repeat it for you that the Kashmir issue has to be resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people, and in line with the UN Security Council resolutions.

(Abdullah Mohmand, Dawn News): The man of all seasons, Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, while responding to the queries of journalists in a random press conference, has claimed that soon, the outcomes of the US visit, will come out and it will be productive. So Pakistan Embassy working there are sending regular press releases. Being a seasoned diplomat and Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have you smelled something productive about this visit?

Spokesperson: About Interior Minister's visits, I'll repeat what I had said earlier. First of all, this is a new concept for me, random press conference. I will explore what does it mean? But that was a comment with friends on a lighter vein. But more importantly, about Naqvi sahab's visit, I'll again refer you to the Ministry of Interior Spokesman and about our relations with the US, it remains a very important relationship, decades old, very dense and comprehensive, and we look forward to deepening our engagement as the new administration has taken power in Washington.

(Mudassar Iqbal, The Destination): Pakistan is in highlights these days in terms to regional developments. If anything happens on border with Iran; Pakistan's name pops up. Something happens on Indian border; Pakistan's name pops up. When news related to either side of Kashmir pops up, Pakistan's name is taken. Now, a similar situation has erupted in Bangladesh. After Sheikh Hasina's online speech, Indian media started propaganda against Pakistan. How much influence Pakistan has on internal affairs of Bangladesh because of constant visits to Pakistan and talks about trade.

Spokesperson: Bangladesh is a brotherly Islamic country. We aspire for good relations. We look forward to enhancing and deepening our ties in all domains with Bangladesh and about the domestic situation, what I can say it is internal to Bangladesh, I cannot comment on it. That's what I can say on Bangladesh, it remains a very important country, and we would continue to persist in our efforts to deepening our relations with Bangladesh.

(Sumaira Khan, Samaa News): Sir, I have a two pronged question on Afghanistan. You might have seen recent SIGAR report on Afghanistan, where it mentions the attacks of ISIS-K. They're nurturing in Afghanistan and al Qaeda and 640 attacks from across the border into Pakistan's territory. And it was just in year 2024, so my question is that how Pakistan sees that report? Because it highlights the contour of US, continuous aid to Afghanistan as well in the recent situations.

Second part is that, do we have any details of KPK's government, any sort of potential dialogue with Afghanistan? Because we heard that they are trying to develop their TORs. So, we, being the Foreign Ministry, are we on board or we are still waiting for the details?

Spokesperson: First about SIGAR's report, in our view, it has reconfirmed what we have been saying all along and what was corroborated by the UN monitoring team as well. We have been stating that the interim Afghan authorities should fulfill their assurances to the international community on counter-terrorism by taking visible and verifiable action against all terrorist groups present on Afghan soil without any discrimination. This is our demand. And regarding statements from the government of KPK, I have seen there. But as a matter of general principle, provincial government's involvement in foreign relations is through the federal government. So far, we have not seen any communication on that, but I'll check with the Afghan desk and get back to you on this precise question.

(Khalid Mehmood, Express News): Many Pakistanis are anxious after new US Policy. They are becoming jobless and their residences are being taken away. Are our missions in the US providing legal assistance to these overseas Pakistanis who are trapped in this situation?

(Naveed Siddiqui): Sir, what Pakistan thinks about the reopening of Guantanamo Bay in this regard?

(Anwar Abbas): Adding up to Khalid Sahab's question, including Chicago there are affectees in 50 countries, belonging to passport cell and working in different embassies. They are facing salary issues for few months or a year. What is Foreign Office doing about it?

(Islamuddin Sajjid, Anadalo Agency Türkiye): How many Pakistanis were deported from the US so far after the President Trump's new policy and my second question is that the US has suspended 800 million dollars aid to Pakistan, after reports of shutting down the USAID.

Spokesperson: Regarding illegal migrants and the related issues, the US government has expedited the removal of aliens, illegal migrants, from the US under a new executive order by the US President issued on 20th January 2025. The governments of Pakistan and the United States remain in active collaboration with each other for processing cases of illegal ordered removed migrants and their subsequent deportation. This is an ongoing process carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.

On the issue of migrants being shifted to Guantanamo Bay, this is not part of our discussions with the US. For example with the EU, we have taken a number of Pakistanis who were found illegally staying there. But this is an ongoing process between the two countries, through our embassies. We are in touch with each other, and this is also an inter-ministerial process in which Interior Ministry is also involved.

On the question of salaries, I'll have to check with the administration. I haven't seen any complaint with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or our staff. But the documents you shared with me pertain to the immigration and passport department. Please refer the question to the IMPASS and Interior Ministry also, because in our case, I checked, there are no such complaints from any employee or staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but maybe from other departments. There is a different budget stream for each department.

(Imran Waseem Aik News) Shafqat Sahab, before becoming Spokesperson you were in charge of European Desk. An incident took place in German city of Frankfurt in which Pakistani consulate was attacked and Pakistani flag was desecrated which hurt the sentiments of Pakistanis. What actions have been taken against them, were they convicted or deported?

Last year, it was expected that MBS will visit Pakistan in June. Replying to a question, it was stated that date of the visit is being rescheduled. Previous year has passed and New Year has arrived. No date has been conveyed by MBS regarding visit to Pakistan or is our government busy?

Spokesperson: About the first question, under the Vienna Convention, it is the responsibility of the host government to provide security and protection to the foreign diplomatic missions and consulates. We have been pressing upon the German Federal government because we interact with it in Berlin that this is their responsibility to offer protection, and ensure security the way we ensure security for any diplomatic mission, including the German diplomatic mission on our territory. This is an ongoing discussion, and the German government understands the sensitivity. They are working through the relevant provincial government on this issue. We are in touch with the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin, and, similarly, with the German Embassy in Islamabad. This is being regularly raised. I agree with you, and thank you for again highlighting it. It's an issue of a very sensitive nature and of very high importance for us and as you rightly mentioned that it has hurt all Pakistanis. It was not just question of a breach of diplomatic premises, but desecration of the flag. We will continue to remind the German government about the prosecution of the people involved in this.

About the second question, I don't have anything new on this. The diplomatic schedules of the high-level visits are constantly in works. Dialogue is underway between our two countries, and interaction at high level continues. So, if we have any news on that, we will share with you.

(Kiran Butt, The Khorasan Diary): President Erdogan is expected to visit Pakistan on February 12. What kind of developments we are expected during the visit? Other than this, the Prime Minister extended message to the Syrian government and President Erdogan just had a meeting with Syrian President. The effects of Syrian civil war are also being felt in this region, so, what is lined up with President Erdogan on this.

Does the Foreign Office has information on how many Pakistanis are trapped in Al-Hawl Camp in Syria. What procedure is being undertaken to bring them home?

Spokesperson: About President Erdogan's visit, what I can confirm to you is that we are at advanced stages of finalizing the program, the details, and soon these are finalized we will issue a comprehensive curtain raiser. It's a very important visit. Turkey remains one of our closest friends and partners, and we look forward to high-level interactions as an important component of our bilateral relationship.

On the second question regarding the number of Pakistani families. I don't have any number available with me right now. I'll have to check and get back to you.

Syria, is part of West Asia, and so are we. The developments taking place in Syria the security situation, do impact us, and the wider Middle East. Syria remains a very important country for us because of its cultural influence, people-to-people contacts and historic relations of faith, language, history, and everything. So we aspire, and would support any initiative for a stable Syria and restoration of peace and stability after years of turmoil over there. This is our overall position on Syria.

(Amir Saeed Abbasi, Nuqta News): Chief Minister KPK held Jirga few days ago, and he said that we are going to negotiate or talks with the Afghan government to Slow down the hostile relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. So, what's your take on it? They said that we'll send the delegation to Afghanistan as well. So, have they already taken on board the Foreign Office and what's the stance of foreign office on it?

Spokesperson: This question has already been asked but I will recap it. As a matter of general principle, any such initiative by provincial governments, has to be through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I'll have to check with the desk, because what I was told by one of our colleagues, the statement of the spokesman of the KPK government, stated that they were finalizing the TORs, and then they will approach the foreign ministry. So, this will be through the Foreign Ministry. As soon as I have more details, I'll be able to comment on that.

(Saqib Ali, Daily Kashmir): Yesterday, Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed. You just stated that the issue of Kashmir will be resolved according to the wishes of Kashmiris. Solving of Kashmir issue according to wishes of Kashmiris is raised at international level but in Pakistan, the slogan of "Kashmir will become Pakistan" is raised by Army Chief an ordinary citizen alike. Is this not a contradiction?

Spokesperson: I won't agree with your opinion on this matter. I don't see any contradiction. We look forward to the day when Kashmir issue will be resolved according to UN Security Council resolutions and that's what I can say on this.

(Abdullah Momand, Dawn News): The Foreign Office officials, while responding to Islamabad High Court mentioned that the Doctor Afia Siddiqui mercy petition was turned down by the former US President. So, what were the reasons behind that?

And the second question is, in October, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif in a letter to then President Joe Biden, demanded the release of Aafia Siddiqui. Did the US respond to that letter or not?

Spokesperson: What I can very briefly say on this is, following the denial by the former US President Biden, the case of Doctor Afia Siddiqui's mercy petition has been closed by the Department of Justice. However, she reserves the right to file the mercy petition anytime in future, again, whenever her legal team chooses to do so.

(Mateen Haider, G News): Spokesman on India-Pakistan, there was a neutral expert who was hearing the case of Kishan Ganga dam and other projects, and after preliminary hearing, the neutral expert decided to formally hear this case. So, what are your thoughts and comments? What are the next steps involved, and what do you expect from this formal hearing from the neutral expert. Thank you.

Spokesperson: This partly was addressed in earlier press briefing, also. Mr. Michael Lino, the neutral expert was appointed by the World Bank to address certain differences between India and Pakistan concerning the design of the Kishen Ganga and Rathlay hydroelectric plants. He has recently published his decision affirming his competence to address the points of difference advanced by India concerning the plants in question. Pakistan welcomes the clarity that the decision brings to the scope of the neutral expert's proceedings, including as regards the binding effect of the awards and decisions of the Kishan Ganga court of arbitration, which has been a matter of sharp contention between the parties for more than a decade. Pakistan is also satisfied that the neutral expert has provided necessary guidance and directions to enable his proceedings to move forward and has made helpful comments with respect to his relationship with the proceedings before court of arbitration, which continues to move forward in parallel. Following this decision, the neutral expert's proceedings will now move forward to the next phase on the merits of the case with Pakistan to submit its counter memorial on the merits in response to India's Memorial submitted in August last year. Pakistan will give careful attention to the neutral expert's guidance in his recent decision for purposes of preparing its counter Memorial, which is due for submission in August 2025.

(Allah Noor, Mashriq TV): Is petrol smuggled to Pakistan through Pak-Iran border? Leader of the opposition and leader of PTI, Omar Ayub, said 500 billion rupees worth of petrol is smuggled from Iran to Pakistan through Balochistan route. He asked, who is responsible for this? So, is petrol really being smuggled from Iran to Pakistan?

Spokesperson: I would refer this question to Ministry of Interior, FBR and government of Balochistan.

Thank You.
