3 militants and 2 policemen killed in Karachi blast

Islamabad, Nov 17, IRNA -- Three suspected militants and two policemen were killed in a blast in Pakistani port city of Karachi Wednesday, local media reported.

According to reports, the terrorists detonated the vehicle when police chased them near a restaurant in city’s posh area. All the dead men were wearing suicide vests.

Two policemen have also sustained injuries in the incident.

The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility of the fatal attack yet.

Paramilitary, troops and police have cordoned off the attack site and the security officials were seen collecting evidence.

Chief Minister of Sindh Province Qaim Ali Shah has asked for a report about the incident.

Home Minister Manzoor Wasan, who rushed to the scene of the explosion, praised the police for preventing a possible terror attack.
