Pakistani Kashmir Chief Justice injured in murder attack

Islamabad, Oct 26, IRNA -- Chief of Justice of Pakistan administered Kashmir High Court was seriously injured in an attack late Tuesday, police said.

Ghulam Mustafa Mughal received two bullets in his stomach while walking outside his house. He was immediately shifted to military hospital in Muzaffarabad in critical condition.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) City Yaseen Baig said that the Chief Justice was strolling near his residence when an unidentified person fired at him and managed to escape.

Baig said the CJ was walking without security guards when he was attacked.

All the entrance and exit routes of Muzaffarabad have been sealed and an intensive search operation started to capture the unknown attackers, said a security official.

President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the attack. The president has directed the concerned authorities to submit a report about the incident.
