IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Islamabad, Sept 23 , IRNA -- At least four suspected militants were killed and another injured when a bomb in their vehicle exploded in Pakistan's Khyber tribal region on Friday, local media reported.

Geo television reported that the blast took place at the mountainous Tirah valley, near the Afghan border.

The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.

It was not clear who planted the bomb in the vehicle.

Supporters of a militant group 'Lashkar-e-Islam' and rival faction 'Ansar-ul-Islam' routinely target each other mainly because of their sectarian thoughts.

Hundreds of people from both sides have been killed in their bloody conflict over the past few years.

The security forces have also conducted several operations against 'Lashkar-e-Islam' and its leader Mangal Bagh has gone into hiding. The group is also accused of having links with Taliban movement.

Khyber agency is also a main supply route for NATO forces in Afghanistan where
militants routinely target the NATO supply trucks and oil tankers.

Also in southwestern Balochistan province, a roadside bomb hit a vehicle of the paramilitary forces on Friday. Two people were injured in the remote control blast, local media said.
