Suspected U.S. Missile Strikes Kill 45 Militants In Pakistan
July 12, 2011
Pakistani security officials say at least 45 suspected militants have been killed by suspected U.S. drone-launched missile strikes in Pakistan's northwest in less than 24 hours.
The attacks began the night of June 11, targeting a militant compound and a vehicle in North Waziristan.
A similar strike came hours later in South Waziristan.
This morning, Pakistani officials say a drone fired missiles at another compound in North Waziristan.
The death toll would be the second-largest in a day for the unacknowledged U.S. drone campaign against militants in Pakistan.
