Series of blasts rock arms deport near Islamabad

Islamabad, July 12, IRNA -- Several people were injured in series of blasts in a arms depot and near a police training center in the outskirts of Islamabad on Monday, witnesses and local media reported.
Troops cordoned off the area and kept the journalists away from the blast site at the town of Sehala, some 20 kilometers from the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
The arms depot caught fire after series of blast and fire fighters were seen heading to the site to extinguish the blaze.
Police and witnesses said that three blasts were heard in the area.
TV footage showed ambulances heading to the affected area.
Authorities were tight lipped over the incident.
Residents said that they heard series of blast near an arms depot. An oil depot is also located in the same area and some TV channels reported that the oil deport is also affected by the blast.
It was not immediately known what caused the blast. Bomb disposal squad was also called to determine cause of the explosions.
One of the country's main police training centers is also located in the area.
