At Least 11 Security Personnel Killed In Pakistan Ambush
March 28, 2011
Reports from northeastern Pakistan say militants have ambushed a convoy of security forces close to the Afghan border, killing at least 11 personnel.
Security officials said the ambush took place in the Shindhand area in Khyber tribal region.
They said the dead included a colonel and a captain.
Pakistan's northeastern tribal regions are home to Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.
The Pakistani army has launched several operations in the remote region over the last two years but the insurgents have proved a resilient foe.
