U.S. Drone Attack Kills Dozens In Northwest Pakistan
March 17, 2011
Reports from Pakistan say a U.S. drone strike killed more than 30 people in the northwest tribal belt today.
Security officials said the missiles hit a Taliban compound in the town of Datta Khel in North Waziristan tribal area, which borders Afghanistan.
A strike in the area on March 16 reportedly killed five militants.
U.S. drones routinely fire missiles into Pakistan's tribal regions from where Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants carry out crossborder raids on NATO forces in Afghanistan.
