Islamabad, March 4, IRNA -- Six Pakistani security men were killed in attack by suspected Taliban militants on Thursday in Khyber tribal region in northwest Pakistan, officials said.

Three other personnel of government militia were also injured when the militants ambushed convoy of forces in Khyber agency bordering Afghanistan.

Official sources in political administration informed that convoy of the militia called as ‘Khasadar Force’ was moving from a duty post when the militants fired at them at Alamgod area.

Officials said that six security men died at the scene and three others were injured. The injured were shifted to a local hospital.

Assistant Political Agent, Bara Abdul Hadi, blamed the militant groups in the region for the attack.

The security forces started a search operation shortly after the attack but the militants fled after the incident.
