Gunmen kill 3 custodians of Pakistani shrine

Islamabad, Dec 15, IRNA -- Unidentified gunmen shot dead three custodians of a shrine in the outskirts of the Pakistani northwestern city of Peshawar on Tuesday, local TV channels reported.
Geo TV reported that two gunmen entered the shrine of Ghazi Baba at Badhabair area and opened fire on the four custodians of the shrine, witnesses said.
Three died at the scene and another was injured, who was shifted to hospital.
State television also reported three deaths.
The gunmen fled after the incident.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack and police said a search operation was launched to apprehend the attackers.
Motives behind the attack were unclear and police said they are investigation the incident.
Residents said that the custodians had received threats from unidentified men.
Several suspects were also arrested from the shrine area, locals said.
Taliban militants recently carried out series of suicide and bomb attacks on shrines of Sufi saints in Pakistan, killing scores of people.
Taliban consider visiting shrines of saints as un-Islamic.
