Suspected U.S. Strikes Kill At Least Five In NW Pakistan
October 27, 2010
Pakistani security officials say a pair of suspected U.S. drone strikes has killed at least five militants in northwest Pakistan near the Afghan border.
The officials said a U.S. drone fired a missile at a house in the Spin Wam area of North Waziristan tribal district, killing two suspected militants.
Hours later, a second attack targeting a vehicle in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan killed at least three suspected militants.
The Pakistani security officials said the militants were members of the Haqqani network -- a Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militant faction that is fighting NATO-led forces in Afghanistan.
