Suspected U.S. Drone Strike Kills At Least Six In Pakistan
September 03, 2010
Pakistani security officials say a suspected U.S. drone strike has killed at least six people in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt near the Afghan border.
The officials said two missiles targeted a militant compound near Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan district.
North Waziristan is a known hub for Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
Few other details were immediately available.
Drone-fired missile strikes against militants have occurred frequently in recent years in the region.
