Clashes leave 32 militants, 1 Pakistani soldier dead

Islamabad, May 18, IRNA -- Nearly 32 militants and a Pakistani soldier were killed as clashes continued in a tribal region on Monday, officials said.
Fifteen soldiers were also injured when militants attacked a check post in Orakzai Agency, they said.
The security forces launched counter attack and killed 25 militants in Kharasha area of Lower Orakzai.
At least seven militants were killed and eight others injured during a clash with the security forces in the Upper Orakzai Agency.
Five security personnel were also injured and were shifted to the military hospital in the region.
The army claimed on Sunday to have killed 60 militants in Kurram and Orakzai tribal regions, the claim could no be confirmed independently as access of journalists to the area is restricted.
Officials claim of the killing of some 800 militants in Orakzai agency since a major operation had been launched in mid-March.
