Pakistani Taliban Chief Appears In New Video
May 03, 2010
Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud is reported to have appeared in a new video -- months after he was reported killed in a U.S. strike.
The U.S.-based IntelCenter group, which monitors militant media, said that in the nine-minute video, Mehsud refutes Pakistani and U.S. claims that he died in a U.S. missile strike in January.
He is also reported to vow that attacks will take place on major U.S. cities. The video, reportedly made on April 4 of this year, makes no mention of a car bomb that was found in New York City's Times Square on May 1.
In an earlier separate video, the Pakistani Taliban appeared to claim responsibility for the attempted car bomb.
New York officials have said no evidence has been found so far to link the bomb to the Taliban.
