Pakistani militants kill former intelligence officer

Islamabad, May 1, IRNA -- Suspected Pakistani militants Friday killed a former intelligence officer in the country’s Waziristan tribal region who was kidnapped last month.
Khalid Khwaja, a former officer of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was kidnapped with another former ISI officer Col Imam and a TV journalist Asad Qureshi.
They had gone to North Waziristan region to make a documentary on Taliban and al-Qaeda, according to Osama Khwaja, son of Khalid Khwaja. They had been missing since March 26th.
A little known group Asian Tigers has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of the three men.
The body of slain Khwaja was found near Mir Ali, a main town in North Waziristan, witnesses in the region said.
A note was placed near the body saying that Khwaja was working for the ISI and American CIA.
TV channels showed footage of his dead body, who according to locals had bullet injuries at head and chest.
The group had released two videos of Khwaja and two other men.
The Asian Tigers has demanded five million dollars for the release of Asad Qureshi, a TV journalist who was making documentary for British Channel 4 television.
