Zardari determined to root out terrorists

Islamabad,April 28, IRNA -- President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan expressed determination Tuesday to root out terrorists and militants from the country at all costs with the support of masses.
Addressing a Jirga of Tribal elders, he referred to tribal people as true patriots adding that they have always rendered tremendous sacrifices for Pakistan.
The Paksitani president called upon the tribesmen to forge unity against terrorists and help government to flush them out.
President Zardari urged all Pakistanis to stay unified to defeat the terrorist forces who he said killed great leader of the country, the late Benazir Bhutto.
There is still a lot to be done to overcome the challenge of militancy and terrorism, although remarkable achievements have been made to wipe out terrorists, said the president.
He added that the present government believed in the policy of reconciliation and consensus given by shaheed (Martyr) Benazir Bhutto and that was a duty for Pakistani officials to resolve public problems and maintain their ideology and identification as well.
President Zardari added that reforms for the FATA would be introduced in consultations with the leaders of tribal areas.
The President said equal compensation would be given to the Levy martyrs at par with Police.
He added that the government has already increased development budget for FATA up to thirty percent and it is to spend over 21 billion rupees in the next financial year.
