Pakistan army helicopter crashes in tribal region

Islamabad, Feb 11, IRNA -- Pakistan army says one of its gunship helicopters has crashed in a tribal region Wednesday.
Local sources said that the pilot and another soldier were killed in the crash. However, the army statement did not say about the casualties.
The cobra helicopter came down in Tirah Valley of Khyber agency, an army statement said.
The statement did not mention the cause of the crash. Officials said that a rescue team has been sent to the area.
Locals said that the helicopter was engaged in shelling on the hideouts of a militant group Lashkar-e-Islam, led by Mangal Bagh.
Tribesmen said they saw several helicopters flying over the mountainous area after the crash. They said gunship helicopters have increased flights in several areas over the past two days.
