Bullet-ridden bodies of 10 Taliban found in tribal region

Islamabad,Feb 3, IRNA -- Bullet-ridden bodies of 10 suspected Taliban militants were found in Pakistan’s Bajaur tribal region on Tuesday, locals tribesmen said.

Two militants were publicly hanged with a roadside tree at Enayat Kali, some seven kilometers west of Khar, the center of Bajaur, they said.

Officials said that both belonged to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and were shot dead by unidentified men.

Tribesmen said that eight bodies of suspected were found at Damadola area, three kilometers from Enayat Kali, who were shot dead. Locals said that they had seen signs of torture on bodies.

Officials did not say as to why had killed them.

This is the 2nd time that bodies of suspected Taliban were thrown and hanged in Bajaur, once the stronghold of Taliban.

On Monday, 15 bullet-ridden bodies of suspected Taliban militants were found at different places of Bajaur. Officials said that they had been killed in fighting which also claimed life of one soldier.

Meanwhile a roadside bomb killed two members of pro-government peace committee and injured three others in Mohand agency, official said.

They said that the bomb exploded near the vehicle of peace committee members at Lashkar Kali area. The vehicle was destroyed in the attack.

Taliban spokesman in the region Ikramullah Mohmand claimed responsibility for the attack.

Locals said that over 100 members of the peace committee have been killed in targeted attacks.
