Bomb kills ex-minister, 3 guards in Pakistan: official

Islamabad, Jan 4, IRNA -- A former member of provincial minister in Pakistan was killed when a roadside bomb hit his car on Sunday, officials said.
Ghani-ur-Rehman, former Irrigation Minister in the North West Frontier Province, came under attack in Hangu district, top regional official Khalid Omar said.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
District Police Officer, Hangu district, Abdul Rashid Khan said that three guards of the minister were also killed in the attack. The minister's driver was injured, he said.
Ghani-ur-Rehman was the leader of the ruling Peoples Party and has also served as District Mayor.
Officials said that Improvised Explosive Device was used to hit the car of the former minister. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack.
Pro-government politicians, security forces, police and government officials are regularly targetted by the militants.
