600 terrorists killed in South Waziristan, Pakistan says

Islamabad, Dec 2,IRNA -- Pakistan said that the operation in South Waziristan is going on according to the timeline and targets given to the security forces and so for 600 terrorists have been killed.
In an interview, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Major General Athar Abbas said that 70 security forces officers and Jawans embraced Shahadat in the operation Rah-e-Nijat.
He said 22 injured terrorists are under the custody of the security forces and being interrogated.
Major General Athar Abbas said the network of Baitullah Mehsood has been dismantled in the populace areas of South Waziristan including training centres and other facilities of terrorism. He said such network will be dismentled in the rural areas soon.
He said that the ring leaders of the terrorists were abducting people and were preparing, equipping and using them against the innocent people. However, they were not using their own family members for this purpose. He said after their complete elimination, the terrorism will be contained and Peshawar would be made safe area.
He said checking instruments, security staff and vigilance have been increased on the routes to check the terrorists movement.
He said developmental process is on in Swat valley with the cooperation of Army and the security forces would remain there till complete peace is restored.
