4 militants killed, over 70 arrested in northwest Pakistan

Islamabad, Nov 30, IRNA - At least four militants were killed in a military operation in northwest Pakistan's tribal areas on Monday, local TV channels reported.
According to the Frontier Constabulary (FC) media cell, Pakistani security forces surrounded militants strongholds at Bara in Khyber tribal agency, four militants killed and several others injured during clashes, the private TV Express reported.
Sources said 67 suspects were arrested in Bara and another five militants were apprehended during the search operation at Palai in Swat district.
Meanwhile, a large cache of arms ammunition has been seized in the nearby Orakzai as the army advanced to take control of more towns in the tribal agency, said the FC sources.
Pakistani army started the operation in Bara Tehsil in Khyber near the Afghan border on Nov. 24 as they are conducting military operations in the neighboring tribal areas after they controlled major militants bases in South Waziristan .
According to the army statistics, Pakistani security forces have killed more than 600 militants since they launched the ground assault on October 17 in South Waziristan, advancing towards the main base of Taliban militants in Pakistan.
