Two policemen killed in suicide attack in Pakistan

Islamabad, May 29, IRNA -- Two policemen were killed in a suicide attack on a check post in the outskirts of Peshawar, local TV channels reported.

Police said that a suicide bomber walked to the check post at Mattani town, some six kilometers from Peshawar, and blew his bomb near police guards at the check post.

Six other policemen were injured in the attack.

It was the third bomb attack in Peshawar area in few hours.

Two other blasts in the busy bazaar in Peshawar also killed five people and injured over 100.

The attacks came hours after Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the Wednesday's huge suicide bomb attack in Lahore, which killed around 30 people.

Hakimullah Mehsood, Spokesman for Taliban movement said his group had carried out the Lahore attack and will do more in the days to come.

Meanwhile in an audio tape released by the army, Taliban spokesman in Swat, Muslim Khan said asked Taliban to carry out attacks in Punjab.
