Pakistani forces secure stronghold of Taliban militants after strong resistance

Islamabad, May 26, IRNA -- Pakistani security forces have secured a stronghold of Taliban militants in Swat Valley after strong resistance, the army said Monday.
Maalam Jabba, located on main line of communication connects Swat Valley with Mansehra in Hazara area, was being used as a training center and a logistic base by terrorists, an army statement said.
“After stiff resistance, the security forces have secured Maalam Jabba, the stronghold of militant-terrorists in Swat, it said.
The statement said in last 24 hours, 4 Militants were killed in various areas of Swat during exchange of fire between miscreants and security forces, while 8 terrorists were arrested and 6 security forces personnel were injured.
The forces have also started action to secure Kabbal, the main stronghold of militants, where militants have training facilities and fleeing militants from Mingora are gathering, it said.
The security forces are facing stiff resistance, according to the statement. It added that the security Forces also diffused several Improvised Explosive Devices.
Heavy exchange of fire took place between the security forces and miscreants, resultantly 2 miscreants were killed and 5 were apprehended at Piochar, the training center of Taliban. “Miscreants are on the run from the valley. The operation is progressing well”.
