U.S drone kills 25 as it hits religious seminary in Pakistan

Islamabad, May 16, IRNA -- U.S drone Saturday fired two missiles on a religious seminary in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal region and killed at least 25 people, locals said.

Six other people were injured when the missiles struck the seminary at Khisur area, 25 kilometers south of Mir Ali, a main town in North Waziristan

A vehicle parked near the seminary was also destroyed, local tribesmen said.

They said that Taliban militants blocked roads to the seminary after two missiles hit it at 8 a.m. Two rooms of the seminary building and the vehicles were completely destroyed.

Locals said they saw two spy planes flying over the area before they fired missiles. Drone flights created fear among the people, they said.

Many people came out of home after the strike and they said they saw smoke emitting of the building.

Officials said they have information as any foreigner was among those killed. They said all those killed are believed to be local Taliban.

But tribesmen said the victims were locals and there was no foreigners.
