Pakistan army says Taliban shaving off beard, fleeing war zone

Islamabad, May 15, IRNA - Pakistan army said on Friday that Taliban militants have shaved off beards and are fleeing Swat valley.
“We request the civil population of Swat to come forward and help security forces in identifying the Taliban terrorists,” an army statement said.
“We have confirmed reports that these Taliban terrorists after shaving off their beards and cutting hair are fleeing from the area”.
“We request the people of Swat to identify them by pointing out at a check post where security forces are present,” the statement said.
The army also issued a cell number and asked the people to call or send text messages on the number if they have information to arrest them.
The statement said that during last 24 hours Security Forces have achieved success in various areas of Swat.
It said that 55 miscreants have been killed in various areas of Swat during last 24 hours while 3 security forces personnel were also killed and 11 others were injured.
An important Terrorist commander, Dawa Noor has also been apprehended by security forces.
Dawa Noor is known Terrorist Taliban Commander who was also member of banned outfit Tehrik Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi council or shoora and was grossly involved in terrorist activities in different parts of Buner district, the army said.
Before security forces launched operation in Buner, Dawa Noor was instigating civil population of the area against security forces on FM Radio and with the help of a Loud Speaker on a Jeep, the statement said. “He played crucial role in facilitating taking over of Buner by Taliban Terrorists”.
The statement said that Taliban miscreants attacked security forces' check posts at their stronghold Peochar and in counter attack 13 miscreants were killed here and one of their vehicle completely destroyed.
