Pakistan military makes headway, kills 52 militants

Islamabad, May 12 ,IRNA -- Operation against miscreants by security forces is making headway successfully and in last 24 hours 52 miscreants have been killed and 5 wounded during the exchange of fire, the army said Monday.
Three soldiers were also killed and several others injured in the operation, an army statement said.
It said that miscreant hideouts were destroyed at various places of Swat Valley and resultantly 30 miscreants were killed.
The miscreants fired at a fort of security forces at Kanju area in Swat, injuring 5 security forces personnel, it said.
The Miscreant’s hideouts were engaged at Mingora, the main city in Swat and Peochar area. As a result 11 miscreants were killed. Two Security Forces personnel were injured due to miscreants' fire at Circuit House Mingora, the statement said.
Seven miscreants were killed by Security forces at Ayub Bridge in Swat, adding that miscreants demolished Govt Boys Primary School at Fazalabad area in Swat.
Gunship helicopters engaged tunnel and hideout of miscreants at Qamber ridge, the statement said, killing 3 miscreants were killed and 5 injured.
The Security forces killed a miscreant who was placing an IED at Chamtalai area of Swat.
The miscreants, too, fired mortar shells at Police Station at Mingora, injuring 4 soldiers.
