Pakistan-PM-National Defense War imposed, whole nation will rise up to defend: PM

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that if the war was imposed on Pakistan, then all the Pakistanis would rise up. Addressing the National Assembly here on Monday, he said, "I pay tribute to the political leadership who expressed deep insight over the recent prevalent issue, and got united.

The PM also said Pakistan condemns terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations; however, if India tried to carry out its designs against Pakistan, it would be defended at all costs.

He said the entire nation and its leaders are one and untied for the defence of Pakistan.

The PM vowed to resist any aggression however, Pakistan does not want war.

He also said Pakistan would not allow any foreign country the access to the arrested persons.

He further said the civilian government and military also have resolved to steer the nation clear of the hard times; the Forum of Friends of Pakistan was used to put off the war.

India requested for cooperation threats in investigations of Mumbai attacks; but, it did not provide any proofs whatsoever as yet.

He maintained that welfare projects of Jamaatud Dawa would not be stopped from functioning.

Gilani said that Indian government, in the wake of Mumbai attacks, was under pressure, as several of their ministers resigned creating a hype threatening the very integrity of Pakistan, adding, "Therefore, we took all the political parties in to confidence and called an APC." He added that this was aimed at sending strong message to the whole world that Pakistani nation is united, adding, "Soon afterwards, cabinet meeting was held where all the leaders expressed confidence over the government."
