Pakistan-Missile-Attack
Unidentified men fired five missiles on an army colony and three rockets on a hospital in Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal region, local administration said Tuesday.
No one was hurt in the late night attack.
Two missiles landed inside the army colony at Wana, the center of South Waziristan, and three landed in an open place near the colony.
According to locals the forces used heavy and small weapons overnight, but there was no report of any casualty.
Officials said that one missile hit an electricity transformer, suspending power supply to the army colony. Three rockets landed at the airport near the army colony. They exploded with huge explosions.
Local shelling from the security forces started around midnight and continued till Tuesday morning, creating panic among the people.
Wana has been calm since the expulsion of Uzbek militants a year ago. However, the situation has been tense after a missile strike on July 8 at Azam Warsak, a town near Wana. The strike had killed seven people.
Local Taliban leader Mulla Nazir said that a teacher and six students of a religious seminary had been killed in the attack.
