Pakistan's nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has disclosed that the government had installed bugging devices at his whole house, his lawyer said Friday.
Qadeer Khan was put under house arrest in 2004 after he was forced to appear on the state run television to say that he had transferred nuclear technology to other countries.
"Qadeer Khan showed me the devices which were installed in his whole house. Dr Khan told me that he himself removed all devices," lawyer M Javed Iqbal Jafferi told reporters after meeting Khan at his residence.
Mrs. Hendrina Khan, wife of Qadeer Khan has filed a request in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking his release from 'illegal detention'.
Jafferi said Khan told him that he has not committed any crime and that he had been put under illegal house arrest under foreign pressure.
Jaffry said Khan has given him an important message in regard to the case in the Islamabad High Court which he will disclose in the court. He did not give any details of the message.
The Islamabad High Court issued notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan and directed to file in response to the questions raised in the application of Mrs Hendrina Khan.
Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam gave the directives while taking up the application of Mrs. Hendrina Khan saying that her husband is in illegal detention.
The hearing was adjourned till July 15.
Khan insisted recently that he did not transfer nuclear secrets outside Pakistan and that he had made statement on PTV for the sake of the country.
Khan says that Europeans had been involved in transfer of nuclear technology.
