Pakistan-Attack
Suspected militants have blown up an under construction security check post in Pakistan's tribal region two days after local Taliban suspended peace talks with the government, witnesses and authorities said Tuesday.
Officials said that unidentified men had placed explosives with the boundary walls of the check post at Wana, the center of South Waziristan last night, which exploded with a huge blast.
There was no casualty but the building was destroyed, locals said.
This is the first explosion at security check post after the Pakistan Taliban Movement suspended talks with the government on Sunday.
Locals fear increase in attacks in the region after peace talks were suspended.
In another incident, a clash between locals and robbers left four people dead near South Waziristan on Tuesday, police said.
Police said the robbers fired at villagers when they tried to take away cattle heads from a small village, killing two people. Villagers near Tank, a major city at the edge of South Waziristan, launched counter attack and killed two robbers.
