Missile strike kills 12 militants in Pakistan's tribal region

A missile strike in Pakistan's tribal region has killed 12 suspected militants, local tribesmen and TV channels reported on Tuesday.
According to locals a missile was fired last night in a village Khushali Torikhel, in North Waziristan tribal area, bordering Afghanistan.
It was not clear if the missile was fired by Pakistani or US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Missiles are also fired by coalition forces into Pakistani areas when they receive information about activities of militants. But tribesmen say that civilians have also been killed in such attacks in the past Local TV channels quoted tribesmen as saying they have seen coalition planes flying in the Pak-Afghan border region.
Thousands of Pakistani forces are battling suspected militants in the Waziristan tribal region, which border Afghanistan.
Afghanistan says that Taliban-linked Pakistani militants cross into its territory from Pakistani tribal region for attacks on foreign and Afghan forces.
Pakistan says it has deployed around one hundred thousand troops along the Pak-Afghan border region to check cross-border-movement of militants.
