Bhutto's assassination an attempt to destabilize Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 5 (IRNA-PPI) -- Visiting Iran's Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki while offering condolences over death of former Prime Minister Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, said her death was ''an attempt to destabilize Pakistan and derail ongoing democratic process.
''The terrorists had tried to shake stability and unity of Pakistan,'' said Mottaki who visited PPP Central Secretariat here Friday and laid wreath at place for visitors.
The entire nation and government of Iran would remember her (Bhutto) as greater friend and well-wisher of their country, he said.
In wake of her death, whole region had suffered badly, he observed adding during her tenure, both countries had enjoyed best ties.
Mottaki also conveyed his sentiments and condolence to Bhutto's spouse Asif Ali Zardari in a telephone call.
