Pakistan would get F-22 P frigate from China, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence, Nisar A. Memon said on Thursday.
Three of the frigates would be manufactured in China while one will be built in Karachi, Memon told a news conference after the committee members' week-long visit to China.
He said first frigate will be delivered in 2009 while three more will be handed over by 2013.
He said China will also equip these frigates with six helicopters.
He added that talks in China were not only focused on bilateral relations but special attention was given to defence and defence production ties.
Senator Dilawar Abbas, one of the members of the Committee, said during a meeting with Chinese think tanks, they gave them categorical assurance that JF-17 aircraft will not be sold to India.
"This project of JF-17 aircraft is between Pakistan and China only," Dilawar Abbas said quoting Chinese think tanks.
The committee members also visited JF-17 Thunder Aircraft manufacturing facilities at Chengdu, and Hudong Shipyard at Shanghai to see the manufacturing of frigates.
Senator Memon said in the recent past a number of joint ventures between Pakistan and China have been successfully carried out while a number of others were in-hand.
These include manufacturing of JF-17 Thunder aircraft, F-22P frigates and many more, he added.
