Pakistan on Thursday successfully test-fired nuclear capable indigenously developed cruise missile, the military said.
The Babur (Hatf-VII) has a range of 700 kilometers, the military said in a statement.
"The flight data collected validated the design parameters set for the flight test," it said.
"The Babur, which was first tested in 2005, is a terrain hugging, radar avoiding cruise missile, whose range has now been enhanced to 700 kms," the statement said.
The statement added that the missile is a highly maneuverable missile with pin point accuracy.
"Babur is capable of carrying a variety of warheads including nuclear".
The test was witnessed by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsan ul Haq, senior military officers and scientists of the strategic organizations.
The test is part of Pakistan's ongoing efforts at consolidating its strategic capability and strengthening national security, the statement said.
The President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz congratulated the scientists and engineers of this very important success, and assured them of their complete support in the development plans of all strategic projects.
