A Pakistan Air Force fighter aircraft crashed in southwestern Balochistan province on Tuesday, killing the pilot, TV channels reported.

The Chinese-made F-7 fighter plane was on routine training mission when it came down near Quetta, the provincial capital, Geo television reported quoting PAF officials.

The pilot was seriously injured and was shifted in a helicopter to a military hospital in Quetta but died later, the report said.

The aircraft crashed in an open place and there had been no human and property losses on the ground.

The TV said that the aircraft came down due to technical fault.
