An opposition group in Pakistan said on Thursday the government is following a foul path which has endangered the life of the architect of the country's nuclear program Abdul Qadeer Khan.
Addressing a press conference leader of Muslim League (N) Muhammad Siddiquel Farooque said that if Qadeer died, his death would be unnatural and President General Musharraf will logically be responsible for that.
Farooque revealed that Dr Qadeer had sent a message to his fiends on Monday that he was "in a tight squeeze".
He said the army spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan had told the national press on 4th November that "the condition of Dr Abdul Qadeer was critical".
He said when the government brought Dr Qadeer from Karachi to Islamabad in disregard for the advice of doctors that he should take rest for at least 15-days, the helpless scientist said, "I have been surrounded by the people of Kufa".
He appealed to the political parties, the national institutions, the superior judiciary, intelligentsia, columnists, writers and the people to take notice of this situation and come to the aid of Dr Qadeer.
These circumstantial evidences prove that Dr Khan is innocent and is being punished at the behest of enemies just to make Islamic Republic of Pakistan a Nuclear Power.
Farooque said that the State Department spokesman Sean mcCormack had the press on 11th October that "Dr Qadeer is out of business now".
Dr. Khan's wife Hunni Khan had already told the press on October 28 that her husband had now been diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis meaning that blood had started clotting in one of his legs though earlier he was not suffering from this disease.
Farooque said that the life of Dr. Qadeer was at risk and if he died, his death would not be natural but a cold-blood murder.
